I know I know, plaid is that bitch! So warm and cozy, or light and great for layering. I am a huge fan of Alice in Chains and Bush and I definitely underwent a whole Kurt Cobain look-alike phase when I started college. I feel like the term icon is overwhelmingly applied to everyone on the internet with a decent following on their socials. Influencer culture we are in! I still think that musicians are huge purveyors of fashion culture and 90s grunge is a big trend. When I'm talking about plaid I'm talking about that thick warm oversized button up. I used to own a decent collection of plaids, I mean duh I’m mexican, our culture has a long history of plaid wearing cholos. Just a side note, not all cholos are gangsters on the street so think twice before you castigate someone based on their appearance. We have a rich Mexican American history with fashion. Anyways I Still own a few pairs of Cortez’s but I’ve softened my palette. Of course we have a variety of plaid button ups and Cobain inspired attire but for variety's sake see what other outfits I've cooked up today.
Julia Roberts is a beauty and one of my favorite movies is Mystic Pizza partly because of her hair, which looks like mine but also because of the sisters' fashion. It’s so 80s, penny loafers, oversized blazers and wildly curly hair. I love it. Take this upscaled, Cobain-esque vintage Pendleton Blazer and give it new life with these loose fitting &denim ripped jeans If you're bold like myself then finish off this look with a cute pair of Park Lane slip ons.
This rustic mountain woman vibe is what I am living for! Pair this plaid button up jacket paired with these black jeans screams winter wonderland. I love a great jacket like this and these comfy made in usa Stone Washed Jeans.
We keep it simple with the menswear over here. Woolrich makes some of the best button ups, cop this Hiking Camping Button Up in a blue/gray and pair with your fav jeans, maybe these Zara skinnys and these white Fila kicks. Add a watch to finish off this look.
